Time to renew and start again

Any of you that have been checking in on this blog from time to time have no doubt wondered where the heck I disappeared to I'm sure. After all, it's been what, like eight months, right? You probably thought I'd completely given up.

In all honesty, I didn't, there were plenty of times I'd tell myself I needed to get on here and write something. To lay it out, I went through a few "dark" periods where my motivation lagged. But so many wonderful things have happened, renewing me, that I need to share them with you!
One of the most important happenings has been becoming part an amazing LOCAL Heathen community and being given the honor of sharing the wisdom of the runes at gatherings, as well as actually lead one of our rituals. Most recently, becoming one of just a few in our group to undertake the honor of seidr, spā, and, in my case as a female, the craft of the völva.
This is no small task, and I have much, much work to do, and believe me when I say I am most grateful to those that have been helping me on this journey.
While this is a significant departure from the eclectic paganism I previously followed, this path of Northern Tradition kept calling me, and I finally had to answer it. I'm very glad I did too.

In addition to the community, my reading opportunities at Witchy Wearables have increased from the regular Tuesdays and Psychic Fair Saturdays to include a couple of Mondays and an additional Saturday each month. Plus occasional backfills as well. Not many people have the opportunity to truly do what they love, in my case, reading runes to help people seeking answers, but the Shapers (or Norns) have been kind with how They've woven my skein.
This has been a time of tremendous change and growth for me...and actually my husband too. We are temporarily staying with my mom as she goes through various health challenges, and it is a pleasure as well as honor to be able to do so. In Heathenry, we focus on our duty to honor and protect our family. This honors our ancestors, those who came before us, but I can honestly say it is truly a happy  thing for us to be able to do this.
There have been there changes too, two of our senior cats passed on, it devastated us, but our remaining young one is relishing being an only pet now.

So, finally, I share with you Berkana, the birch rune, representing growth, fertility and birth. It also involves nurturing of the self, as well as the seeds of our ideas, dreams, hopes and goals. Berkana counsels that the conditions are right to plant those precious seeds, and to nurture them as they gestate, transform and "become". It is the reminder to get in touch with that all important feminine aspect within each of us, that which seeks to care for, encourage, and nurture.

What is it that you seek to bring into being? What will you do to tweak, refine and improve those plans, so that when the seeds of your ideas sprout, you're ready to hit the ground running? You have a window of opportunity for this, because nature's time will dictate when the time is right for things to fully manifest. You must be ready, so don't dilly-dally....

Thanks for the opportunity to share with you. Please come back, and don't forget to check out the reading dates and events for the current schedule.

Until next time, Hail....and farewell!
